Nan - You have left me with so many memories. I will always cherish you. You have always been there for me through everything. I know you will always be near in spirit and give me strength when I need it, compassion when I don't feel it, and the vision that things can only get better from here. I can't stop hearing you speak to me and I won't stop feeling your presence. What a strong woman you were...you were a fighter with a big heart. Don't worry Nan we will all take care of each other ... I hear you... in the end, FAMILY will always be there for you. I am so happy that you will finally get back to your homeland and meet with all those precious loved ones that you have lost. Safe journey...until we meet again. I love you always - Carrie

I was lucky enough to spend time on Long Island staying with Annie and the family. We celebrated St Patrick's day during my visit. One funny memory for me, I took a day trip on the train into New York ( this is before mobile phone's ) Annie asked me to call her because she was worried a little because I was visiting alone from Australia and New York was so big. She wanted me to call her to check in I tried to call her on the public phone but couldn't get through. I was so worried she would be worried I had to call Noel in Australia in the middle of the night to call Annie to let her know I was safe. Great memories, you will always be in our hearts Annie love Noel, Debbie, Alison, Rebecca and Ryan Mahon .

Nanny, words can't express how much I wish I could've been there for you as of the last few years. I will miss you so much and think of you every morning when I have my cup of tea. I will cherish the memories I have of you and wear the last name Mahon with much pride. Love you so much.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I stayed with Aunty Annie for an extended holiday in 1987. Annie (and Patsy and Carrie and Thommie) gave me a fantastic Long Island summer. The day I was due to leave I couldn't find Annie. When I was walking out of the house to leave Annie arrived and hugged me and pressed $50 into my hand. She had been baby sitting that morning to get that money for me. She said it was so I did not go hungry on my journey. This was what she was like. She also taught me to make up my own mind about people. I always remember her saying '...people think he is a bum but he has always treated me well'. Annie help me to start to think for myself and be my own person. I will never forget her and it is with sadness that I wish her a speedy journey. I only wish I could have given her $50 for something to eat on her way.
