Erica taught my son in the beginning of the 2017 school year. We met more informally shortly after at swim team, as her daughter and my son also swam together. She was a vibrant, warm, gentle soul. I remember at a swim meet my son swam a relay race for the first time and was so proud of himself .. she saw this and came running over to high five him. She was more proud of him then I was, and in that moment I realized what a special person she truly was. We would talk often after swim practice, and I will always remember her positive energy.
