Patty Granau Meade left a message on August 2, 2015:
My precious Aunt Joan knew and loved Jesus Christ with all of her heart mind and soul. I know she is face to face with our LORD today and that brings me peace. However, I will miss her terribly and I ache to see her just once more! She recently spoke at my Aunt Mary's funeral and had all of us in stitches about her ventures with my mom and her sister in their younger years, but more importantly she spoke to everyone at that funeral about how important it is to give their lives to Jesus Christ and be saved! Aunt Joan was funny, giving, caring, and loving. She was the most selfless person I ever knew. She suffered much heartache in her life, losing her dear son in a tragic accident when he was only a teenager. Even in the face of death she looked to the LORD with great passion and love and was a testimony to all of us of the strength that can be found in Christ. She took great care of the needy and she loved her family dearly. She was my Godmother and every birthday and Christmas she showered me with loving gifts that pointed to Jesus Christ. I accepted Jesus into my heart 25 years ago and owe the greatest thanks to Aunt Joan for praying for me and always steering me toward the LORD, I know it was through her prayers that I came to be such a committed follower of Jesus. She was one of a kind and will always , always be in my heart.
PATRICIA LARVIN AND FAMILY left a message on July 31, 2015:
JOAN WAS ALWAYS A VERY CARING PERSON. SINCE THE AGE OF 5 SHE HAS ALWAYS SENT A BIRTHDAY CARD. SHE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED FOR BRINGING MY FATHER LEFT OVERS AND TALKING ABOUT THE VARIOUS "FINDS" THEY COLLECTED FROM OTHER PEOPLES THROWAWAYS. SHE WILL BE BE MISSED BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.
