So sorry to hear of Mel's passing. Bagel Boss was my first job and I remember Mel counting out the $1 bills for my first payday. My condolences to the Rosner family-- Mel and my father Richard were lifelong friends. My dad's face would always light up when he spoke about Mel, and when my father got sick Mel sent along a lot of positivity and well, love, to my Dad. I'm sure the two of them are catching up right now.

Our family lived blocks from the Rosner family in N.Massapequa. I first met Mel when he worked at Kossars Bialy bakery in Brooklyn with my Dad in the 1950s. I also worked with Mel when I joined the Bialy union Local 3. My Dad always talked fondly of Mel. May God Bless him and his family during this sad time. He was a good man and he had a wonderful sense of humor during the time he worked with myself and my Dad.
